JAMES C. LAREW
For more than thirty years, Jim Larew has had the privilege of providing legal services to Iowans throughout the state.
An honors graduate of both Harvard University and the University of Iowa College of Law, Jim practices law over a broad range of civil and criminal matters including employment, civil rights, family law, and property law.
Jim has tried many cases in state and federal courthouses in Iowa and Illinois, and has argued appeals before the Iowa Supreme Court and the Federal Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits.
From 2007-2011, Jim was called to serve as General Counsel to Iowa Governor Chet Culver, and also served as Policy Director and Chief of Staff in the Office of Governor.
Upon his return to private practice, Jim has expanded his general law practice in Iowa City to include an office in Des Moines. He has broadened the focus of his law practice to include advocating: for the interest of Iowa policy holders against insurance companies who have acted in bad faith; against environmental polluters; and against owners of nursing homes and care facilities who have injured residents through indifference or neglect.
CLAIRE M. DIALLO
Claire Diallo graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in December 2005. During law school, Claire was a member of the Moot Court Board and Iowa Law Review, where she had her Note published.
Claire clerked for the Larew Law Office and Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. prior to graduation, when Claire moved to Lausanne, Switzerland. While in Switzerland, Claire worked for several non-profit organizations before transitioning in-house as Legal Counsel at Edwards Lifesciences, a medical device company. Claire left Edwards Lifesciences to move to Canberra, Australia, with her family. She returned to the United States in late 2009 and now resides in Plainsboro, New Jersey. She is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
Claire brings her experience in both litigation and corporate work to bear in her work for the Larew Law Office. She is assisting Jim Larew in his work on environmental law matters as well as a variety of other litigation, including policyholder representation against insurance companies.
